Correlation between Knowledge of Nutrition and Oral Health, an Attitude to Diet on University Students

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between knowledge of nutrition and oral health, an attitude to diet on university students. The subjects were 135 university students. 123 Data were collected through mobile survey from June 15 to August 15 2014. Data were analyzed using the SPSS Statistics 21.0 Program. The average nutrition score on the entire subjects was 13.75 point but significant difference was not observed in gender, major, academic qualification, a type of residence and awareness of own oral health status (p>0.05). The average on dietary attitude was 11.58 and oral health knowledge was 7.48 respectively. However, there were no significant differences in gender, major, academic qualification, a type of residence and awareness of own oral health status (p>0.05). The nutrition score showed a signigicant positive correlation with oral health knowledge (p<0.05). The nutrition score showed a signigicant correlation with oral health knowledge. However It need to have a further study to prove a correlation between knowledge of nutrition and oral health, an attitude to diet.
